Set up Time Limits for Games: Games should be limited by sufficient and clear boundaries of time. Teach to balance games with other activity engagements, such as exercise, homework, and time spent with the family.

Content: Monitor the kind of games your kids play. Use parental controls in such a way that the games you buy have the age range that is suitable for your child. Read reviews and ratings about different kinds of games.

Encourage Open Communication: Maintain open communication lines with your child about their gaming experiences. Inform them of importance to be considerate of others, stay safe online, and how things might go with gaming.

Playing video games online is an activity that can pose benefits as well as hazards for kids. Parents and other adults who care for children can help them catch the benefits of online gaming while mitigating the risks if they are aware of these effects and put mechanisms into place to govern gaming behaviors.
