The Question ? Ended My friendships

After all, there are several points in many friendships at which the entire dynamics change with one query. For me, it was a close friend that once asked, “Do you really believe that we’re growing apart?” At first glance, it seemed harmless, but it struck a chord. It exposed my long-held unsaid fears and insecurities through this question.

This made me realize that my friend was enjoying newfound experiences and opportunities while I was experiencing life as being a rut. Our lives were really headed in different directions.

What started as some casual banter quickly escalated into a rather serious examination of our shared beliefs, objectives, and, finally, our relationship.
